Sheffielder artist Pete McKee has opened his first pop-up store in London, at the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane. The exhibition will run from the 1st till the 23rd of April.
Pete’s love of music is at the heart of his work. He’s a member of ukulele band The Everly Pregnant Brothers and his peculiar style has earned him the admiration of many artists. Noel Gallagher chose Pete to design Oasis’ tour posters and he afterwards collaborated with other creatives and brands like The Arctic Monkeys, Rega, XFM, Richard Hawley, Disney, ACME studios, Warp Films and Clarks. Since 2011 Pete also works with designer Paul Smith.
The artist is also a proud patron of The Sheffield Children’s Hospital’s art charity Artfelt and ambassador for the Teenage Cancer Trust and Record Store Day.
The London’s shop is called MoKee and exhibits new and classic artworks and a collaboration with Liam Gallagher’s clothing company Pretty Green and Clarks, it includes a limited edition of Parkas, military jackets and t-shirts, hand-painted, printed and sprayed by Pete.
In addition to the artworks, at Mokee you can also buy limited edition prints, books, t-shirts, mugs, a tea set, tea towels, canvas bags, brooches and pins.
