Last September, during an interview for the NME about the release of the first single of his new band, Summer Moon, Nikolai Fraiture announced that the group was “looking towards releasing a full-length album and eventually touring it”.
No sooner said that done: the album With you Tonight is out (available to listen on Spotify) and the band played at The Trobadour in Los Angeles this Monday, 27th of February 2017, with special guests The Bulls and Mereki.
Joining the Strokes bassist is Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction) on drums, Camila Grey (Uh Huh Her) on keys / vocals, and Noah Harmon (The Airborne Toxic Event) on guitar, a perfect balance of girls and guys, as Nikolai said.
It’s the second project for Nikolai, after his debut album The time of the Assassins in 2009. Each member of the Strokes, when not playing and recording with the band, is, indeed, very active on solo projects or collaborating with other musicians. Nick was the last to release a non-Strokes album, New Skin, with CRX the past October.
